🖨️ Free Printable UK Ring Size Chart
A Printable UK Ring Size Chart provides a convenient way to compare British letter sizes with physical ring measurements while you are at home.
Unlike US ring sizing, which normally uses numbers, the UK system uses letters such as J, K, L, M, N, O and P. British jewellers may also offer half sizes such as L½, M½ or N½ for a more precise fit.
The printable chart below includes UK size, inside diameter and inside circumference. It can be useful when measuring an existing ring or comparing a finger measurement with a British jewellery size.
Before using any printable ring sizing guide, confirm that your printer has reproduced it at the correct physical scale. Printer settings such as “Fit to Page” can enlarge or reduce a document, which may invalidate measurement graphics.
Print the British Ring Size Chart
Select 100% or Actual Size in your print settings and check the 50 mm scale line.

British ring sizes • Inside diameter • Inside circumference
Step 1 — Check Printing Scale
The black line below must measure exactly 50 mm with a physical ruler. If it does not, change your printer scale to 100% or Actual Size before using this chart.
| UK | Diameter | Circumference |
|---|
Check the 50 mm Line Before Using the Printable Chart
A printable ring size chart can only provide meaningful physical measurements when the printer has reproduced the page at the intended scale. Always use a real ruler to verify the calibration line.
Use Standard A4 Paper
Load A4 paper into your printer and open the browser print window using the button above.
Select Actual Size or 100%
Look for the scaling option in your print settings. Choose Actual Size, 100% or an equivalent setting that does not resize the page.
Avoid Fit to Page
Settings such as Fit, Shrink, Scale to Printable Area or Fit to Page may change the physical dimensions of the chart.
Print One Test Copy
Print the page and place it flat on a table before trying to compare a ring with the measurements.
Check the Calibration Line
Measure the black line with a physical ruler. It should be exactly 50 mm. If it is not, correct the print scaling and try again.
Measure the Inside Opening, Not the Outer Ring
The printable UK ring size chart uses the internal diameter of the ring.
Choose a Ring That Fits
Use a ring normally worn on the same finger for which you need the size.
Measure the Inside Diameter
Measure across the empty opening without including the metal band.
Record Millimetres
Millimetres make it easier to compare small differences between sizes.
Match the British Size
Find the nearest diameter on the printable chart and read the UK letter.
If you already own a ring that fits properly, inside diameter is one of the easiest measurements to compare with a Printable UK Ring Size Chart.
Place the ring on a flat surface. Position a millimetre ruler across the widest part of the empty centre. Measure from the inner edge of the band on one side to the inner edge on the opposite side.
Do not measure from the outer edges. Outer diameter includes the thickness of the ring itself and will produce a value that is too large for normal ring-size comparison.
Record the diameter as precisely as possible and compare it with the printed table. If your result sits between two full UK letters, a half size may provide a closer match.
For example, a diameter around 16.71 mm is approximately UK M in this reference, while around 17.12 mm is approximately UK N.
| UK Size | Inside Diameter | Diameter Inches | Circumference | Circumference Inches |
|---|
Note: Jewellery sizing references can use slightly different rounded measurements. Compare the final size with the retailer from whom you intend to buy.
British ring sizing is particularly useful because many jewellers offer half sizes. Instead of moving directly from UK M to UK N, for example, UK M½ may be available between them.
Half sizes can matter because the difference in physical diameter between neighbouring ring sizes is small. A measurement that sits between two whole letters may therefore be better represented by a half size.
Not every retailer stocks every half size in every design. Check the individual product page or ask the jeweller whether the ring can be ordered or resized to an intermediate size.
Existing Ring
Compare the inner diameter of a ring that already fits comfortably.
Surprise Gift
Measure a borrowed ring when trying to estimate a gift recipient's size.
Online Shopping
Compare home measurements with sizing information shown by online retailers.
Size Comparison
Understand how diameter and circumference relate to British letter sizes.
Home Measurement
Get an initial estimate before visiting a professional jeweller.
Jeweller Check
Take your estimated result with you when confirming your size professionally.
A printable chart can be a useful ring-size estimator, particularly when you have a correctly fitting ring available to measure. However, accuracy depends on both the print scale and the quality of your measurement.
If the printer enlarges the page by only a small percentage, any physical-size diagrams may become inaccurate. This is why a calibration reference should be checked every time you print a sizing guide.
Household rulers can also make fractions of a millimetre difficult to read. Digital callipers may provide a clearer inside-diameter measurement when greater precision is needed.
Ring width also affects fit. A broad wedding ring can feel tighter on the finger than a thin ring with a similar internal measurement.
Use the printable chart as a practical guide and confirm expensive, customised, engraved or difficult-to-resize jewellery with the retailer or a professional jeweller.
- ❌ Printing using Fit to Page without checking the calibration measurement.
- ❌ Measuring the outside diameter rather than the inner opening of the ring.
- ❌ Using a ring that normally fits a different finger.
- ❌ Rounding a diameter too early when the measurement falls close to two sizes.
- ❌ Assuming every jeweller uses exactly the same rounded conversion measurements.
- ❌ Ignoring band width when choosing the final size.
Printable UK Ring Size Chart
A printed chart is useful when you want a physical reference beside your ruler or ring. Once printed correctly, the table can be kept and reused without reopening a calculator.
Digital Ring Size Calculator
A calculator can automatically find the nearest UK size after you enter diameter or circumference. This reduces the need to manually scan through a long chart.
Use Both for a Stronger Home Estimate
A useful approach is to measure carefully, compare the result with the printable chart and then verify the same measurement with a digital calculator. If both point to the same UK size, you have a more consistent home estimate.
