💍 Printable Ring Size PDF for UK Ring Sizes
This Ring Size PDF is designed as a practical printable reference for British ring sizes. It combines an A-Z+ measurement chart with actual-size circles for a group of common UK sizes, so you can compare an existing ring with a printed reference as well as check diameter and circumference values.
The most important part of any printable ring sizing guide is scale. A PDF can only act as a physical reference if it is printed at 100% or Actual Size. Printer options such as “Fit to Page”, “Shrink oversized pages” or automatic scaling can change the dimensions enough to produce the wrong result.
That is why the downloadable file includes a 50 mm calibration bar. Measure the bar with a ruler after printing. If it is not exactly 50 mm, do not use the printed circles for sizing; correct the printer settings and print again.
Printable UK Ring Size Chart - A-Z+
The PDF includes a calibration scale, actual-size reference circles for common UK letter sizes, and a complete chart covering full and half sizes from A through Z+4.
Check your print scale first
This line is styled to 50 mm in the browser, but the downloadable PDF calibration bar is the reference to use for final sizing.
Printer setting: choose 100% / Actual Size and disable Fit to Page.
Download the PDF instead of sizing from a screenshot
A screenshot, browser preview or image can be resized by the device. Use the PDF file so the physical dimensions can be preserved when printing.
Select A4 paper and Actual Size
Open the print dialog and choose A4. Set Scale to 100% or choose Actual Size. Turn off options that fit, shrink or enlarge the page.
Measure the 50 mm calibration bar
After printing, place a physical ruler against the calibration bar. It must measure exactly 50 mm from end to end.
Use a ring that fits the intended finger
Place the ring over the printed circle and compare the ring's inside edge with the circle. Do not compare the outside edge of the band.
Confirm valuable purchases with a jeweller
Printable sizing is useful for narrowing the range, but engagement rings, wedding rings, wide bands and expensive jewellery should be confirmed with a professional sizing set when possible.
The downloadable PDF uses circles drawn to the physical inside diameter of the listed ring sizes. The preview below shows the idea, but do not use the browser preview itself as an exact sizing tool because screen and browser scaling are not reliable physical measurements.

Note: These values match the measurement data used in our UK ring-size tools. Major jewellers can round individual values slightly differently, so use the retailer's chart for the final order when one is provided.
Match the inside opening - not the outside of the band
The printed circle should align with the ring's inner edge when viewed directly from above.
Lay the printout flat
Use a hard, level surface. Wrinkles or curved paper can make the comparison less accurate.
Centre the ring
Move the ring over the circles until the printed line closely follows the inside edge around the full opening.
Choose the closest match
If the ring falls between two printed sizes, compare the millimetre chart and consider a professional check rather than guessing.
Paper-strip method
Wrap a narrow non-stretch paper strip around the base of the finger, mark the exact overlap, lay the strip flat and measure the length in millimetres. That length approximates finger circumference.
Compare the result with the circumference column in the Ring Size PDF rather than the diameter column. Repeat the measurement several times because even a small marking error can shift the closest size.
Why finger measurement varies
Hands change throughout the day. Temperature, hydration, activity and natural swelling can affect finger circumference. The dominant hand can also differ from the other hand.
Measure the exact finger on which the ring will be worn, and make sure the proposed size can pass over the knuckle without becoming excessively loose at the base.
- ✓Accurate print scale matters mostA correctly generated PDF can preserve physical dimensions, but the printer can still resize the page unless Actual Size / 100% is selected.
- ✓A calibration check catches scaling errorsThe 50 mm bar is included so you can verify the print before trusting the circles.
- ✓Existing-ring measurement is usually easierA rigid ring gives a clearer inner diameter than a flexible string wrapped around a finger.
- ✓Band design still affects fitWide bands can feel tighter than narrow rings, and comfort-fit interiors can feel different from flatter profiles.
- ✓Charts can round differentlyPublished jeweller charts may differ by a fraction of a millimetre, which is why the seller's own sizing guidance should be checked before ordering.
Goldsmiths' ring-size guide publishes UK letter sizes with circumference measurements and also offers a printable ring sizer. Its measuring guidance stresses checking ring size and provides methods for measuring either a finger or an existing ring.
H.Samuel's ring-size chart and guide also explains a home method using string and a millimetre ruler, then matching the result with the closest ring size.
These external references are useful cross-checks, but if you are buying from a particular retailer, use that retailer's final size chart because published measurements can vary slightly by rounding and product design.
